In order to book this tour basic swimming skills & previous snorkeling experience are required. Guest's must be able to swim a short distance to our snorkel board & independently climb up a side boat ladder. Guest must be able to converse in English to understand verbal instructions & safety briefings. Not recommended for guest's who have undergone surgery or have mobility/physical restrictions. Our Manta Policy: Manta Rays are wild animals and Hawaii Island and Ocean Tours cannot guarantee their presence. If a manta ray is not seen on your night out with us you may try again on a different night, or on your next visit. Guests who purchased tickets at our full online booking price may come back out again for free. Tickets purchased through a 3rd party (such as TripAdvisor/Viator/Expedia...etc) or at a discounted rate may join again for an additional $30 per person. Please keep in mind that seats may be extremely limited during certain times of the year. We usually are very successful in finding mantas for you; however if they decide to take the night off the costs involved with setting up the charter will not allow us to offer you a refund. We appreciate your business and understanding of this policy.

The experience was obviously very amazing but I rented one of the go pro cameras and did EXACTLY what the tour guides said to do, Went over it about 3 times, only to get home and look at the video and it be completely dark. The go pro must’ve been faulty. I held the camera exactly where they said to, hit record button once I got in (it was blinking so I know it was recording), and pointed directly at the manta rays as they passed by. But all I’m left with is blank videos. Wasted an extra $25 and didn’t get to store the experience.

INCREDIBLE!!!! The crew was awesome (YAY GIRL POWER!) excellent and detail oriented. This is such a exciting and fun experience!! It’s night time… on the ocean.. you jump in and there they are!! Huge manta rays, some bigger than you, swimming up and looking you eye to eye! These gentle giants are incredible!!! OMGOODNESS! It was SOOOO awesome! You do need to be able to swim is my opinion, because it’s not necessarily difficult but could maybe be scary to someone who doesn’t swim.. you know jumping into choppy ocean at night with a pool noodle and all! 😂😂 But if you are brave, adventurous and looking for a great once in a lifetime experience - THIS IS IT! There were some in our group who were afraid but the crew was so encouraging and helpful, by the end everyone got in the water and got to experience it too! This is just incredible! Highly recommend!!

This was one of our favorite experiences on our honeymoon! Captain Justin and our guide Eli were wonderful. We saw so many manta rays and it was incredible to learn their names, ask questions, and get to experience their personalities! I highly recommend booking this while you're on the Big Island!
