Guest's must be able to swim a short distance to our snorkel board & independently climb up a side boat ladder. Our Manta Policy: Manta Rays are wild animals and Hawaii Island and Ocean Tours cannot guarantee their presence. If a manta ray is not seen on your night out with us you may try again on a different night, or on your next visit. Guests who purchased tickets at our full online booking price may come back out again for free. Tickets purchased through a 3rd party (such as TripAdvisor/Viator/Expedia...etc) or at a discounted rate may join again for an additional $30 per person. Please keep in mind that seats may be extremely limited during certain times of the year. We usually are very successful in finding mantas for you; however if they decide to take the night off the costs involved with setting up the charter will not allow us to offer you a refund. We appreciate your business and understanding of this policy.

My wife and I were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary on the Big Island and we were looking for adventures on the island that we would cherish and remember for many years to come. Without knowing anything about or having any prior experience with Hawaii Island & Ocean Tours, we took a chance and booked a spot with them on their Keauhou Manta Ray Night Snorkel adventure. And what a great decision this was!! Sam, Justin, Alisha, and Eli all hit the ball out of the park in delivering a first (and probably once) in a lifetime experience for us. Not only was the experience in swimming with the manta rays unbelievable but the sincerity and care Sam and her team showed us was beyond expectations. They truly know the importance of delighting the customer. I would highly recommend Hawaii Island & Ocean Tours to anyone looking for the same experience and adventure we had. This was a great experience and worth the $. It’s a 3 minute boat 🚤 ride out, then you spend 30 minutes in the water with the mantas. You simply hang onto a surfboard 🏄 with handles and look down- the mantas are drawn by the krill who flock to the blue light. The mantas will swim RIGHT UP TO YOU to eat the krill- they skim the surface upside down. So cool! The guides were super nice and knowledgeable. Would recommend for all ages if kids are up to it.

Unbelievable interaction with a beautiful, gentle, 8-foot manta. Right up to my mask. Good, efficient crew sharing knowledge. I'm 75 and I felt very safe in every way.
