Our Manta Policy: Manta Rays are wild animals and Hawaii Island and Ocean Tours cannot guarantee their presence. If a manta ray is not seen on your night out with us you may try again on a different night, or on your next visit. Guests who purchased tickets at our full online booking price may come back out again for free. Tickets purchased through a 3rd party (such as TripAdvisor/Viator/Expedia...etc) or at a discounted rate may join again for an additional $30 per person. Please keep in mind that seats may be extremely limited during certain times of the year. We usually are very successful in finding mantas for you; however if they decide to take the night off the costs involved with setting up the charter will not allow us to offer you a refund. We appreciate your business and understanding of this policy.

Everything was as promised, a once in a lifetime and wonderful experience with the manta rays. Felt Very safe and even though I didn’t know how to swim, I was well taken care of with floatation devices etc. The only reason I didn’t give a full 5 star was that they wouldn’t provide power snorkels for my family that wears glasses and cannot see much through regular snorkels.. we had to hunt down a rental and rent our own and ended up buying one full face one when all said your tour operator should be providing it. But other than that the team gets full credit for a fabulous and fun experience

Thank you. This guest was aware before coming on the tour that we did not provide prescription lenses snorkel masks. I did my best to provide information on where to rent the gear they needed. I also offered a full refund many days prior to departure and suggested they book with an operator that provided the lenses. Although, the few tour providers that offer prescription lenses, do not offer a comparable price. We hope to add prescription snorkel gear to our inventory in the near future. Aloha.

The manta rays are truly magnificent creatures, and I hope y’all will book a manta tour. We chose Hawaii Island and Ocean Tours, because it offered a special price through Trip Advisor (and also Groupon) that was much less than most other tour operators. All of the boats leave from the same harbor, go to the same location, and use the same rafts, so it may not matter much which operator you choose. The best thing about Hawaii Island and Ocean Tours was the expertise of our boat captain, who could talk knowledgeably about the rays, the site, and the experience. The worst thing about our trip was the guide in the water with us, who seemed bored by doing many trips and spent much of our time chatting with other guides, rather than talking to us about the magnificent creatures. Or simply being quiet and allowing the magic to happen. The other bad thing was that I felt myself get stung on my arm and then my leg, and I told the guide, who just shrugged it off, saying, yeah, there are jellyfish-like things that sting. As a result of the stings, I left the water early. I wish I had talked to the captain, because on my way home the pain increased, and it did not subside for several hours, til after soaking in hot water.
