Our Manta Policy: Manta Rays are wild animals and Hawaii Island and Ocean Tours cannot guarantee their presence. If a manta ray is not seen on your night out with us you may try again on a different night, or on your next visit. Guests who purchased tickets at our full online booking price may come back out again for free. Tickets purchased through a 3rd party (such as TripAdvisor/Viator/Expedia...etc) or at a discounted rate may join again for an additional $30 per person. Please keep in mind that seats may be extremely limited during certain times of the year. We usually are very successful in finding mantas for you; however if they decide to take the night off the costs involved with setting up the charter will not allow us to offer you a refund. We appreciate your business and understanding of this policy.

Pictures don’t do it justice, these manta rays are enormous. Our guide Ola got us to a spot with 8+ massive manta rays circling below us. I’ve been to the island a few times and this was honestly the best experience I’ve had here. Thanks Ola!

Snorkeling with manta rays - the description doesn’t really do the experience justice. I’m surprised this company isn’t rated higher. We had an amazing experience! They only take six people at a time which made for an intimate experience. We were a group of three friends - and a family of three joined our tour. Our greeter, captain, and guide were all super knowledgeable. You can tell these folks really love what they do! Would definitely recommend to anyone. If you’re into supporting local businesses - would definitely recommend. You just need to be comfortable in water and be calm when those manta rays approach (they do so many back flips). They’ll give you a pool noodle, so don’t worry about needing to swim for long periods of time.

Went to their Manta Ray Snorkeling. Mantas were magnificent and the organization was good enough (though they were somewhat hard to find given a heavy rain and the fact that they changed the meeting spot compared to the instructions). However, they charged us $30/person extra since we had to reschedule last minute (due to a difficulty with our car), even though it's not like they would have sold our spots to someone else - these tours don't have high occupancy these days.

With all due respect. When your group initially booked I allowed you to use three slashed rate tickets, typically only one slashed rate ticket is allowed per tour. This was a favor and convenience to you as you did not call for availability before purchasing as is directed on all our listing. When you called last minute the night of your initial booking I assured you that even if you were another 20 minutes late we would accommodate you. You were only charged another $20 per person when our regular rebooking fee is $30. This fee was simply to be able to pay our captain and crew for the first night when you said you were unable to make it. Also so I would not have to cancel on the other guests booked on tour of your initial booking. The highly discounted price you paid for your ticket through a third party, plus the extra $20 we asked you to pay for rebooking is still 30% less than our full price. We understand first hand that that sometimes things don't go as planned, just like we were not expecting for an unknown to take our regular check in parking and had to move less than 50 feet away. I am saddened that you feel we have done an injustice to you. I did everything in my power to accommodate your group while still responsibly running our small family run business. We are happy you were able to enjoy the manta rays and leave Hawaii with the memories of the magnificent experience. Unfortunately our business will be negatively effected for months to come by the three star reviews you left on two different platforms. Aloha.
