In order to book this tour basic swimming skills & previous snorkeling experience are required. Guest's must be able to swim a short distance to our snorkel board & independently climb up a side boat ladder. Guest must be able to converse in English to understand verbal instructions & safety briefings. Not recommended for guest's who have undergone surgery or have mobility/physical restrictions. Our Manta Policy: Manta Rays are wild animals and Hawaii Island and Ocean Tours cannot guarantee their presence. If a manta ray is not seen on your night out with us you may try again on a different night, or on your next visit. Guests who purchased tickets at our full online booking price may come back out again for free. Tickets purchased through a 3rd party (such as TripAdvisor/Viator/Expedia...etc) or at a discounted rate may join again for an additional $30 per person. Please keep in mind that seats may be extremely limited during certain times of the year. We usually are very successful in finding mantas for you; however if they decide to take the night off the costs involved with setting up the charter will not allow us to offer you a refund. We appreciate your business and understanding of this policy.

If you only do one organized activity whilst in the area, this is the one!!! The experience was amazing and enhanced by professional service of the staff , before, during and after the swim!! smaller boats and much more personal than 30 people squashed on a boat!!

I really enjoyed every moment of this experience. I saw 4 Manta Ray from very close, it was majestic. At some point, they were so close that I panicked and swallowed some ocean water :D :D I attached some photos but the video are much better. It's unfortunate that I can not attach some of them. Hawaii Island & Ocean Tours are very good, they know where to find the Manta Ray, they offer a small group experience where you can fully enjoy it, as opposite to other tours where they have 30 people on the same spot pushing each other for a view. I will definitely recommend with this specific tour.

It has been 10 years since we had the pleasure of enjoying the manta rays and especially seeing Big Bertha once again! The crew worked hard to make sure we found several manta rays, even with a technical difficulty on the trip. They did manage to make sure we were able to view the awesome grace and beauty of these magnificent animals. Only warning I would give is if you’re disabled to be aware that they use zodiac style boats and my husband and I both had difficulty getting back on board. Overall a very enjoyable experience.
