In order to book this tour basic swimming skills & previous snorkeling experience are required. Guest's must be able to swim a short distance to our snorkel board & independently climb up a side boat ladder. Guest must be able to converse in English to understand verbal instructions & safety briefings. Not recommended for guest's who have undergone surgery or have mobility/physical restrictions. Our Manta Policy: Manta Rays are wild animals and Hawaii Island and Ocean Tours cannot guarantee their presence. If a manta ray is not seen on your night out with us you may try again on a different night, or on your next visit. Guests who purchased tickets at our full online booking price may come back out again for free. Tickets purchased through a 3rd party (such as TripAdvisor/Viator/Expedia...etc) or at a discounted rate may join again for an additional $30 per person. Please keep in mind that seats may be extremely limited during certain times of the year. We usually are very successful in finding mantas for you; however if they decide to take the night off the costs involved with setting up the charter will not allow us to offer you a refund. We appreciate your business and understanding of this policy.

What a great experience! I will be the first to admit I was slightly apprehensive about getting in the water, at night, in the dark, with extremely large sea creatures. Nevertheless, it was an exhilarating experience! Once we arrived I immediately felt more comfortable by how knowledgeable and helpful the crew presented. I also love how they stress the importance of keeping these beautiful animals safe and protected, which in turn keeps you safe and protected when in the water with them. The second we got in the water we were greeted by two enormous Mantas! At one point I think I could see at least 6 at once! The crew member who was in the water with us told us their names and how they tell them apart and about each of their individual personality characteristics. The mantas are truly gentle giants and so amazingly graceful. Thank you so much to Hawaii Island & Ocean Tours for such an amazing experience!

We had a wonderful time with John and his crew. He takes out no more than 6 at a time to personalize your experience filling you in on the rich past of the island along with the facts of today. A very eye opening experience. The morning with the dolphins was my personal favorite but the night Manta Ray snorkel for me was a really close second, lol. Stay local with the smaller companies. Your personable experience can’t be beat.

These guys are seriously the best. We went out on a night manta tour and a dolphin and snorkeling the next day. Would highly recommend. Best day ever!
