In order to book this tour basic swimming skills & previous snorkeling experience are required. Guest's must be able to swim a short distance to our snorkel board & independently climb up a side boat ladder. Guest must be able to converse in English to understand verbal instructions & safety briefings. Not recommended for guest's who have undergone surgery or have mobility/physical restrictions. Our Manta Policy: Manta Rays are wild animals and Hawaii Island and Ocean Tours cannot guarantee their presence. If a manta ray is not seen on your night out with us you may try again on a different night, or on your next visit. Guests who purchased tickets at our full online booking price may come back out again for free. Tickets purchased through a 3rd party (such as TripAdvisor/Viator/Expedia...etc) or at a discounted rate may join again for an additional $30 per person. Please keep in mind that seats may be extremely limited during certain times of the year. We usually are very successful in finding mantas for you; however if they decide to take the night off the costs involved with setting up the charter will not allow us to offer you a refund. We appreciate your business and understanding of this policy.

This was amazing! We did the last tour of the evening and we’re a little tired and scared. The crew was wonderful in explaining everything in a calm manner, that was easy to follow. I would definitely recommend you do this. You will not be sorry you did!

We chose this company for the Manta Night Snorkel because the pricing was so reasonable and we liked the small group size. It was such a good choice as we felt we had the mantas all to ourselves. We only had four mantas that night, but that's all you need honestly, they danced in front of us all night. Our tour was also much later than other groups - 9:40 pm- leading to a more intimate experience! The guide on the water was giving us facts the whole time, including the mantra identification patterns and names- I learned it was Amanda who brushed up on my belly! I wish I could remember the name of the Manta with the broken front fin- it kinda bends down and internally. Loved that manta and got some great footage of the gentle giant! The boat ride was very quick there and back, which was convenient as it was a bit chilly after being in the water. Loved the dry wetsuits and the snacks afterwards! I don’t think we were in the water for the full 30 minutes, but I still enjoyed every minute of this once in a lifetime experience.

I believe the manta ray with the broken cephalic fin may have been, "Lefty." I am not sure why your tour didn't feel like the full 30 minutes, however, I will be sure to follow up with my Captains to ensure that we are given the allotted time in the water. Seldom times, the Captains will make a call based on the group as a whole and if the majority decides to come aboard a bit earlier than 30 minutes, the Captain will bring everyone back aboard as well in reasonable circumstances. Very relaxed and professional staff. We really liked the smaller group. This was the highlight of all the things we did. Incredible creatures performing underwater ballet while feeding. Could not believe how close they came and at times touched (briefly) you. An experience we will remember and would do again.
