What To Expect
1
Kenai Fjords National Park
In Kenai Fjords National Park, over half of the landmass is covered by the enormous Harding Icefield, a thousand-foot block of ice that dates back to the last Ice Age. The Harding spills out in all directions in the form of glaciers. Some stretch northwest into rugged hills of the Kenai Peninsula. Others—five of them, to be exact—reach as far as the sea along the craggy coast of the Gulf of Alaska.
2
Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge
Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge is comprised of 2,400 islands, headlands, rocks, islets, spires and reefs and is known for its abundance of seabirds.

We did the 6 hour boat tour and it was fantastic! Captain was great, got us really close to glaciers and whales. He also told us a lot about the area. Lunch was great as well. Tour was much better then expected!

Excellent views for the national park, and wildlife including birds, whales, seals and otters. Boat captain, on June 25, was interesting, knowledgeable, and personable.

We went out with heavy fog. We asked before departure if the tour quality would be compromised because of the fog and we were told it wouldn’t. After that, we spent 4 of the 6 hours just watching white clouds outside the window. The other two hours we managed to at least see 10mts away. We told the crew but didn’t care. Not a cheap tour for having this kind of service.
