We came to Alaska for two weeks, and our trip as a whole was magnificent. While we had many amazing experiences (including an interpreted tour of Denali, and a great dogsled event) the hands-down highlight of our Alaska vacation was our 6-hour cruise tour of Kenai Fjords National Park.
Why? The lion's share of the credit goes to Captain Sherry Cruse, and her helpful, experienced crew. Captain Cruse's experience and passion were evident both in the way she interpreted the Alaska coastline for us, and in the breathtaking display of wildlife she steered us toward. We saw a school of orcas, humpback whales, porpoises, otters, seals, sea lions, two kinds of puffins, & bald eagles. No other day in Alaska came even CLOSE in terms of wildlife.
Equally special were the glacer vistas and the amazing coastal rock formations.
Thanks to Captain Cruse, we saw Alaskan wildlife and geology I doubt we could have seen in any other way, and left with memories we'll treasure forever. What more could we possibly ask for?
