What To Expect
1
Kenai Fjords National Park
In Kenai Fjords National Park, over half of the landmass is covered by the enormous Harding Icefield, a thousand-foot block of ice that dates back to the last Ice Age. The Harding spills out in all directions in the form of glaciers. Some stretch northwest into rugged hills of the Kenai Peninsula. Others—five of them, to be exact—reach as far as the sea along the craggy coast of the Gulf of Alaska.
2
Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge
Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge is comprised of 2,400 islands, headlands, rocks, islets, spires and reefs and is known for its abundance of seabirds.

This was a fabulous tour with ample views of truly extraordinary scenery and wildlife. You are immersed in the natural beauty of the Kenai Fjords during most of the time on this cruise. I can't imagine a better way to enjoy this park. Expect to see sea otters, Stellar sea lions, puffins, mew gulls, and humpback whales

The tour was over 8 hours, dinner on Fox Island was very good. We did see glaciers calving, whales, seals, etc. The tour captain was patient and thorough and stayed in locations for all possible sightings.
MY only COMPLAINT---there should be a time limit for standing at the bow of the boat as a courtesy to all passengers---many people parked themselves at the bow and never left---this is one of the best locations for photos. A 20 minute stay/or less would be a courtesy to all on board---we all paid the same amount of money---the trains have signs posted on their viewing cars---either have the captain or crew announce a time swap/or ask for courtesy to move from the bow so others have that some opportunity. Other than that, all was fine. Lunch was good, too. Fox Island buffet was very good, and highly organized.
