If you're traveling by same-day train arrival and departure with the Alaska Railroad: If the train arrives late, passengers will miss the 11:30 AM departure time. We will try our best to accommodate by providing alternate tour options, space available. An alternative option would be to go on the 4.5-hour Resurrection Bay Tour that departs at 12:30 PM.

Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge

Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge is comprised of 2,400 islands, headlands, rocks, islets, spires and reefs and is known for its abundance of seabirds.

Holgate Glacier

A towering tidewater glacier Visit either one of two spectacular tidewater glaciers, Aialik or Holgate. Like Aialik, Holgate Glacier is surrounded by steep cliffs, dense forests and towering mountain peaks. Visitors may see spectacular calving events as ice chunks break and crash into the ocean. Though rare, black bears have been sighted on the beaches in Holgate arm.

Resurrection Bay

Boat trip through Kenai Fjords National Park. Very interesting, with the boat stopping for a suitable amount of time every time marine life was seen, especially many orcas. The information given by the team was also very interesting. The points to improve are the lunch offered (below the quality of the tour) and the possibility of booking seats for those who purchase online in advance.

When I came here 10 years ago, the weather was bad, so the half-day cruise turned into a two-hour cruise in the bay, so I tried again for revenge. Last time, I was able to chase the killer whales, but this time, unfortunately, I could only see the usual things like sea otters, seals, and puffins. However, the sun was shining at Holgate Glacier, so I think I was lucky in that respect.
