What To Expect
1
Kenai Fjords National Park
In Kenai Fjords National Park, over half of the landmass is covered by the enormous Harding Icefield, a thousand-foot block of ice that dates back to the last Ice Age. The Harding spills out in all directions in the form of glaciers. Some stretch northwest into rugged hills of the Kenai Peninsula. Others—five of them, to be exact—reach as far as the sea along the craggy coast of the Gulf of Alaska.
2
Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge
Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge is comprised of 2,400 islands, headlands, rocks, islets, spires and reefs and is known for its abundance of seabirds.

The captain knew where to go to find the various animals and views. The deck crew were cheerful and did their part well.

Being up close a large glacier, floating without any sound. Fantastic sights of sea life; Sea Otters, Grey Whales, Orcas (Killer Whales) Harbor Seals, Stellar Sea Lions, Mountain Goats and Eagles too.

We spent a week on and around the Kenai peninsula and were mesmerized by the beauty of the scenery here, but by far the highlight for us was the National Parks day cruise. We saw whales, orcas, porpoises, seals, sea otters, sea lions and more. Furthermore we were able to get close to the Holgate glacier and hear its sounds and see minor calving. And I can’t say enough about the captain and crew of our boat. I would highly recommend.
