Full disclosure: my husband wants a duck tour everywhere we visit and I have never acquiesced until now. It always seems way overpriced for what could *possibly* be delivered. However, it was the cheapest way to see more than we could walk to in our short shore time in Ketchikan.
Our guide, Jacob, claimed to be a 3rd generation Ketchikan resident, and seemed to have the tales to back it up. This made the tour more interesting as a get-to-know-the-place tour, not just sightseeing. Also, he's a middle school teacher in real life? Bless his heart. I'll happily let him practice his corny jokes on me if it builds his skills for the coming school year.
We were in the back row so it WAS a little hard to see some things, even though I was next to the window. This could be a problem in every row for the height-challenged, I'm not sure. I didn't mind hawking the quackers, it drives my dog crazy and makes me laugh; besides, at least he wasn't trying to sell me tanzanite.
In short: cheaper than the other cruise-time tours, entertaining, lots of bald eagles.
