Our adventure started on the canoeing portion of the trip. We paddled large canoes across a pristine lake with amazing SE Alaskan wildlife, including eagles and other birds. The lake was flat calm on our visit and the paddling was easy. The walk thru the rainforest was interesting and beautiful. We found the guides to be very knowledgeable about the plants, animals, and local geology. The 2nd portion of the trip was in the Jeeps. We traveled up and down 2 logging roads that contained many bumps and rocky obstacles. The 4WD was fun and may be unique for those not accustomed to off-road driving. However, I felt that the tour was a little rushed and not very scenic. Much of the logging road was surrounded by high vegetation on either side, making the ride just a bumpy amusement ride. We did stop at a scenic overlook for a few minutes, but nothing out of the ordinary for SE Alaska. This portion of the trip would be much better if the guides slowed down and picked more scenic off-road trails. Just going fast over potholes and rocks isn't really what I was expecting.

Drove Jeeps over backcountry roads, saw beautiful forests, took a canoe across lake, and had a hike and snacks. Our guides, Jesus and Conner, were terrific. Definitely worth doing.

It was a really fun day. Driving a Jeep and then paddling across a lake. The hot cocoa and snacks were a pleasant surprise.
