The boat ride was enjoyable and we did see a humpback whale! However the van ride to see the bears at the salmon hatchery was not as enjoyable as there were no bears. Picture used to advertise this trip was very deceiving.

The staff were friendly and helpful showing us where drinks were in the boat. But this tour was a lot of money! ($962) for a family with nothing to it. We saw 2 eagles, but no bears, no whales, no other wildlife! If you are going to charge this much money for an adventure to just look for wildlife that may or may not be there then you really need to add some other substance to the tour to make it not such a let down. The land tour guide did give us some information, but there was no commentary on board the boat in regards to the area about wildlife or landmarks or other interesting information. There was no Dungeness crab pot pulling as per description, and we did not see the salmon ladder. Our other Alaskan tours in cities included a lot more content. Very disappointing to have wasted all this money.

Sorry the whales and bears weren’t cooperating this tour. We did in fact see one Humpback whale but I know you can understand they sometimes don’t do very much for entertainment. We also did see seals and Sealions at Walden Rocks. We no longer do the crab pot pulling and I apologize if it’s still stated on our wed site. We will get that part of the tour removed so no one has any more confusion. As we tell all our guests, we do not guarantee wildlife and we always try our best and we do extend the tours in the hopes to find them. At times we do strike out in whales and bears but most guests do understand we are not in a zoo or an aquarium. It’s all in the perspective each individual has on the wildlife QUEST.. it is a QUEST for wildlife and whales. We are out there in the hopes to find them and sometimes they are just not in the area we usually see them. My apologies to you.

Captain Jesse, his daughter Morgan, and first mate Jessie could not have provided a better experience! It helped that the seas were calm that day, June 19th, and the orcas cooperated. Jesse said that he had never seen so many orcas feeding together! We followed them for at least an hour and were able to get multiple videos. The boat was well stocked with drinks and snacks and all the staff were pleasant and knowledgeable and accommodating. We even thought we saw a bear on a nearby beach, but it turned out to be a big black dog, but it provided us with a good laugh. I couldn't recommend this excursion any more highly. Just do it!
