The day didn't look like it was going to be a success when we congregated on a rainy dockside in Ketchikan and were packed into a minivan for the trip to the cove. Just three brave souls had decided that kayaking was a good idea on such a miserable day (the rest of the van had opted for the zip wire experience). That's when we met our guide, Halle, who lit up the afternoon for us. She was helpful, cheery, professional, knowledgeable and responsible, all the things that you'd expect from a top class guide, But she also shared our sense of awe when a whale came close and was as enchanted as we were by the seals and other wildlife. The scenery was majestic, the wildlife amazing and our guide fantastic. Was it still raining? I have no idea, the experience was terrific from start to finish. Even the minivan seemed to have turned into Cinderella's carriage for the return trip (okay, it was just a bigger and plusher one...). Highly recommended experience and Halle was a ray of sunshine and a breath of fresh air on a rainy Alaskan afternoon.

My sister and her friend were visiting and wanted to go kayaking. So I grabbed a friend and the 4 of us went one Sunday! We had a wonderful time! Our guides were helpful and informative. We had a large group that did get spread out but we never felt rushed. It is a great tour for beginners as it is a very easy pace. Wear rain pants if you have them, my jeans got wet. I would definitely go again!

We were new to kayaking. The guides provided wonderful instruction and were very attentive to us throughout the excursion. Demitra and Hannah were both wonderfully knowledgeable about the area and could answer any questions the group had. Their attitudes and expertise made our experience enjoyable and memorable.
