Lovely day on the water.
I was anticipating no beer or wine on the ride out, it was in the description I read online. Some of the other passengers were miffed - there are drinks once the crew heads back in. The beers were very refreshing on the way back!
Our day on the water was a bit chilly, windy, and very choppy. Not a great day for visibility, not a great day for inexperienced swimmers. The crew made it very clear that if you weren't a strong swimmer, it was not recommended to get in the water. And yet, many first time swimmers jumped right in, and had to be rescued by crew. It was quite an operation and our crew of 3 was firm, warm, clear, direct, and efficient.
Hubby and I were happiest right under the boat, holding the ropes and looking below us at a school of fish that look like the ones pictured in the thumbnail. Even in off season, it was fascinating to see the ocean at work.
It wasn't an ideal day for snorkeling, and yet, my husband and I had a great time, made new friends, and saw North America's only living coral reef. More than worth the money.
