Wondering if Sebago once had a reputation for putting themselves out a bit. We booked this trip on a concierge recommendation that these guys will sail out of the harbor if they can. In the harbor the captain told us that when we cleared the harbor they would raise the sail. Didn’t happen. Motored all the hour to the snorkel site. Also on the way out was the first we heard that the boat would not be going to the usual Atlantic side with the better snorkeling. High seas over there. No thanks for not allowing anyone to reconsider. The glowing reviews here have to be from people who have seen much reef. Saw a few fish, but it was fairly lame. At the snorkel spot we asked about the sailing again. Crewman Matt said the wind wasn’t right to sail out, and we needed to get there on time, but that the wind was great for the return trip, and we’d sail all the way back. Care to guess? Yep, the sail was never unfurled for the return either. Unless they take it down now, Sebago website says, “On reaching open water and conditions permitting, the crew unfurls the sails for an authentic Key West sailing experience – no motors needed!” It was pretty out there, but we surely felt taken.

I am sorry your day was less than desirable. I offer no excuse here the Captain should have sailed one way or the other. As to the reef, the winds are often high in March and we have to go to a smaller reef. It is typically addressed in the Captains Speech and people are allowed to reschedule. Again I will speak to the Captain of that day, sound like he had a bad day and for that I apologize.

Amazing experience! Staff and snorkeling was excellent! Would highly recommend! The view was amazing and the Catamaran was very clean.
