What To Expect
1
Kona Inn Shopping Village
Built on ancients grounds, the Kona Inn was responsible for ushering in the era of tourism in Kona. The site was formerly home to King Kamehameha II and is known as "papa'ula" or "red flats" as there may have been human sacrifice here as well. End the tour with a cleansing sage smudge at the new Big Island Ghost Tours booth.
2
Hulihe'e Palace
Will the ghostly "lady in white" of the palace show herself again? Was it Pele, or Princess Kaiulani? We've witnessed her on tour once before...and then she disappeared!
3
Mokuaikaua Hawaii's 1st Christian Church
The lava rock cornerstones of Hawaii's very first Christian church were formerly part of an ancient Hawaiian temple, built hundreds of years in the past. This newly introduced religion eventually led to events that are considered Hawaii's civil war and the end of the ancient Kapu system.
4
Ahuena Heiau
A former sacrificial heiau (luakini) dedicated to the god Ku where human sacrifice was performed, then later rededicated by King Kamehameha to the god Lono as a temple of peace.
5
Kamakahonu Beach
This is the location where King Kamehameha I transitioned into the next life, and also the site of ancient human sacrifice.
6
Kailua Pier
The central meeting place in downtown Kona, where missionaries arrived bringing western religion to the islands.

Zach has a fire in his eye for what he does and for the history of the Big Island. If you want to hear about the best possibilities of what is still roaming and lingering around the Big Island in the Paranormal Realm, we highly recommend you take the Big Island Ghost Tour. You just may have some hard to explain experiences yourself.

Zac was a fun guide and very knowledgeable. We did experience several eerie things!! Our teenagers loved the equipment he had available for them to participate on the tour. Let’s just say there may have been some spirits on the tour with us!! Can’t wait to to this tour again on our next trip with more friends and family.
