Kualoa Ranch - Malama Experience Tour

Overview
Depending on need, activities can include thatching of traditional Hawaiian hale (grass huts); assisting with clearing, cleaning, planting, and harvesting the kalo (taro) in the taro patches; clearing/rebuilding the 'auwai (freshwater streams) that feed the lo'i (taro patches); or malama of the la'au lapa'au (medicinal plants) that are used to make teas, tinctures, salves, and other medicinal uses.

Guests will also learn about the modern dangers to the ocean ecosystem and Kualoa's efforts to monitor coral in Kaneohe Bay.
