Overview

Lahaina Turtle Town a.k.a. Mala Wharf is our first choice snorkel destination. In 1992 powerful hurricane Iniki destroyed the Mala pier. The remaining posts from the pier have created an artificial reef and sanctuary where corals and other marine life thrive. While snorkeling at Mala Wharf, you’re likely to spot Moorish Idols, Green Sea Turtles, and Saddleback Wrasse.

If the snorkel conditions are not ideal at Lahaina Turtle Town the Captain will choose from one of the other premier westside snorkel locations that include Honolua Bay, Airport Beach, and Launiupoko. All of these locations offer excellent opportunity to view the beloved Hawaiian green sea turtles, many varieties of brightly colored tropical fish, and beautiful coral reef formations.

During whale season we frequently observe Humpback whales as they enjoy the warm Hawaiian waters! This tour segment will include expert narration and provide a "play-by-play" commentary of the whale behaviors as you view them.

There is a reason this tour is priced less than the rest. Completely disorganized and forgot to email everyone that the tour would be canceled. There was a line of people ready to go and they didn’t contact anyone. I have heard this your was not great but thought we would try for the price. Beware!!!

My partner and I booked this trip the night before the outing and we are so glad we did. Check in was easy to find and well organized. All of the crew members were extremely professional and went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. The captain explained safety measures and itinerary in a clear and friendly manner. They even give a few minutes of demo for first time snorkellers. I appreciated the emphasis on conservation and respect for the turtles and natural area we were visiting. Seeing so many sea turtles up close was AMAZING. Not to mention the fish and coral itself. We also saw several humpback whales raising their pectoral fins out of the water and doing tail slaps! Such a cool experience. I was surprised at how smoothly this excursion was considering the large amount of people (around 75 in total including many children). This was my first time snorkelling and one of the crew members made sure I had the mask on properly and gave me encouragement to go in (I think their name was Nicole- You’re awesome!) I recommend this trip to everyone!
