Emerald Bay State Park
The Ultimate Half Day Tour departs at 7:00 am, and focuses on the best of Tahoe’s South and West Shore areas. Our journey begins at a beautiful secluded Tahoe beach, shadowed by spectacular Mt.Tallac. Across the river is an Eagle sanctuary, and you will be able to view and photograph different species of local birds, and possibly even a bear. As the mountains and lakes beckon, our adventures continues to back country lakes and spectacular waterfalls. Above the falls, another high country lake awaits our arrival. Climbing 2,000 feet above Tahoe to a high country ridgeline, gives you amazing views. Continuing to one of the most photographed locations in North America, Emerald Bay. Tahoe Photo Tours will take you to special locations to avoid the crowds.

Sugar Pine State Park
Sugar Pine Point State Park contains one of the finest remaining natural areas on Lake Tahoe. With nearly two miles of lake frontage, the park has dense forests of pine, fir, aspen and juniper. Constructed in 1903, the property is one of the finest examples of a by-gone era of summer retreats found along the shores of Lake Tahoe. With crystal clear waters and up to 24 inch pine cones this is a must see location.

In addition to doing a private boat tour and an ATV tour, we did the Tahoe Photographic Tour (1/2 day). We had seven of us, including four teenagers. Everyone had a blast on the Tahoe Photographic Tour, which was the highlight of our trip. This assumes you are interested in great background info on the area, the beautiful sights, an opportunity to take cool photos, and yummy sandwiches in a small restaurant off the beaten path. Getting great photos taken by our guide was a bonus!

The greatest tour I have ever been on. Griffin did an amazing job showing us Lake Tahoe and took amazing pictures!

This half-day tour was great. Our guide was Griffin, who is young, gregarious, knowledgeable, and loves photography. Sadly, my best camera is an iPhone - but Griffin captured our tour with some postcard-quality photos using professional equipment. All of his photos were free and available for download within a week. Our tour group consisted of 6 individuals from 2 families, and we rode in a large comfortable SUV. We spent all of our time in the southwestern Lake Tahoe region, exploring places I would have easily overlooked (plus, we went down roads I would never dare to drive). Some hiking was involved at the various stops, but it was all short-distance and easy. Griffin had a photographer's eye for objects of all sizes, and his interests were contagious. At one point while driving, a black bear crossed our path. In a flash, the SUV was parked and Griffin is giving chase with camera in hand – this was the one instance where the group stayed in the car. Although our tour was running long, he was more interested in our time schedule than his own; and probably would have continued longer if allowed. My only complaint is that he didn't make me look 10+ years younger.
