Emerald Bay State Park
The Ultimate Half Day Tour departs at 7:00 am, and focuses on the best of Tahoeā€™s South and West Shore areas. Our journey begins at a beautiful secluded Tahoe beach, shadowed by spectacular Mt.Tallac. Across the river is an Eagle sanctuary, and you will be able to view and photograph different species of local birds, and possibly even a bear. As the mountains and lakes beckon, our adventures continues to back country lakes and spectacular waterfalls. Above the falls, another high country lake awaits our arrival. Climbing 2,000 feet above Tahoe to a high country ridgeline, gives you amazing views. Continuing to one of the most photographed locations in North America, Emerald Bay. Tahoe Photo Tours will take you to special locations to avoid the crowds.

Sugar Pine State Park
Sugar Pine Point State Park contains one of the finest remaining natural areas on Lake Tahoe. With nearly two miles of lake frontage, the park has dense forests of pine, fir, aspen and juniper. Constructed in 1903, the property is one of the finest examples of a by-gone era of summer retreats found along the shores of Lake Tahoe. With crystal clear waters and up to 24 inch pine cones this is a must see location.

We visited Lake Tahoe in early January and there had been no natural snow. We were a bit disappointed, since we were there specifically for skiing. We decided to look for an alternative activity on the second day and came across Tahoe Photographic Tours. Such a great choice! The vehicle was clean and in great condition. Our tour guide (Mike G) was very knowledgeable about the area. He took us to areas that we never would've found on our own (the lack of snow was advantageous in this way). Our tour was considered a "half day" tour but we started around 8am and didn't end until mid-afternoon, making it more of a full day. Once we returned home, we were able to enjoy the trip all over again when we received the cd of photos. I was happily surprised to see that they sent not large edited photos but also the originals. It was a great way to see the area and we would do it again on a return trip.

It was a very good experience. Our guide Greg was very helpful and knowledgeable to the area, and took us hard to find places. What is unexpected was that Greg who is an experienced photographer , also took a lof of photo of us with the beautiful backdrop, Lake Tahoe, which really happens to me since I am always the one who is behind the camera. It was a pleasant experience. Money well spent

I had a very disappointing experience with tahoe photographic tours. I had searched for tours in Lake Tahoe before we arrived and decided on this company because of their excellent reviews on Trip Advisor. Because of the comprehensive nature of the tour we decided against hiring a car as the other areas we wanted to visit (the ski fields at North Star and Squaw Valley) were easily accessible by bus from our accommodation. The week before we arrived in the Tahoe area I booked two places on the tour for the following Friday. I received a confirming email from the company stating that they would pick us up from our accommodation at Cedar Glen Lodge (which is in Tahoe Vista) at 9.00 am on Friday and asking me to get in touch by phone or email on the Thursday to confirm final details. We arrived in Tahoe on Thursday and I emailed the tour company confirming our arrival and asking if I could pay by credit card. That evening I received a message from the hotel reception asking me to contact the tour company as they couldn't pick up from north Tahoe hotels. I phoned the number I was given and was told by a rather rude woman that it was 'all over the website' that they don't pick up from north Tahoe hotels. This is not true, as I could not find a single statement to this effect on their website. In any case, I am at a loss to explain why they did not inform me of this when I initially made the booking nearly a week beforehand, when I would have had time to arrange for a hire car so that we could have seen more of this beautiful area. We have never been to Lake Tahoe - we live in Australia - so are not aware of the distances in the area or the distances between north and south lake Tahoe. I had no option but to cancel our bookings, as we had no way of making our way to the other side of the lake by 0900 the following morning, and due to the difficulty in finding any other tour - or indeed any other form of transport around the lake, we are very disappointed that we have not seen as much of the area as we could have, due to the lack of information and communication from the company who say they provide "excellence in service ...... and down-to-earth Tahoe hospitality"? Not in our case!
