What To Expect

Emerald Bay State Park

The Ultimate Half Day Tour departs at 7:00 am, and focuses on the best of Tahoe’s South and West Shore areas. Our journey begins at a beautiful secluded Tahoe beach, shadowed by spectacular Mt.Tallac. Across the river is an Eagle sanctuary, and you will be able to view and photograph different species of local birds, and possibly even a bear. As the mountains and lakes beckon, our adventures continues to back country lakes and spectacular waterfalls. Above the falls, another high country lake awaits our arrival. Climbing 2,000 feet above Tahoe to a high country ridgeline, gives you amazing views. Continuing to one of the most photographed locations in North America, Emerald Bay. Tahoe Photo Tours will take you to special locations to avoid the crowds.

Sugar Pine State Park

Sugar Pine Point State Park contains one of the finest remaining natural areas on Lake Tahoe. With nearly two miles of lake frontage, the park has dense forests of pine, fir, aspen and juniper. Constructed in 1903, the property is one of the finest examples of a by-gone era of summer retreats found along the shores of Lake Tahoe. With crystal clear waters and up to 24 inch pine cones this is a must see location.

Wow what a great choice of tour this was so thanks to my lovely wife for this birthday present. The whole tour was really well organised from booking to farewell. Jim is a professional photo journalist who was so pleasant and knowledgeable. His attention to detail, teaching skills and knowing the best spots made it an absolute pleasure. Jim’s Kevin Costner voice was also a bonus for my wife !! I have been a “snapper” all my life but from now on I feel I can call myself a “photographer”. I would recommend this experience 100%.

Jim was my tour guide and took me to beautiful locations around the lake including a waterfall. I recently took a photography class and bought a new camera which was my main reason for taking the tour. I received invaluable advice on composing the best shots and the sharpest settings to take amazing photographs. Thank you Tahoe Photographic Tours. I'm planning on taking another tour next year.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Keith, Robyn and Jim. They were friendly, knowledgable and helpful from information before the tour to tips and history during the tour. I accidentally left something in the van and Robyn brought it to my lodging.
