What To Expect

Emerald Bay State Park

The Ultimate Half Day Tour departs at 7:00 am, and focuses on the best of Tahoe’s South and West Shore areas. Our journey begins at a beautiful secluded Tahoe beach, shadowed by spectacular Mt.Tallac. Across the river is an Eagle sanctuary, and you will be able to view and photograph different species of local birds, and possibly even a bear. As the mountains and lakes beckon, our adventures continues to back country lakes and spectacular waterfalls. Above the falls, another high country lake awaits our arrival. Climbing 2,000 feet above Tahoe to a high country ridgeline, gives you amazing views. Continuing to one of the most photographed locations in North America, Emerald Bay. Tahoe Photo Tours will take you to special locations to avoid the crowds.

Sugar Pine State Park

Sugar Pine Point State Park contains one of the finest remaining natural areas on Lake Tahoe. With nearly two miles of lake frontage, the park has dense forests of pine, fir, aspen and juniper. Constructed in 1903, the property is one of the finest examples of a by-gone era of summer retreats found along the shores of Lake Tahoe. With crystal clear waters and up to 24 inch pine cones this is a must see location.

I can’t say enough amazing things about Keith and Robin! They go above and beyond to make sure that you have an amazing experience. I signed up for a half day tour and got much more than that. Keith knows all the great spots in Tahoe and will do anything to help you get the best photo. He is so knowledgeable about Tahoe. He also knows cameras (forwards and backwards) so he can help each person on the tour to get the best shot. If you do anything in Tahoe, it should be a tour with Keith and his team. You’ll have the best experience. I now have friends in Tahoe for life! Thank you Keith and Robin for an amazing experience!!!

I scheduled a tour beginning on Friday morning, August 16th with Jim (pictured below). There was a couple in addition to me in our tour group. Jim did a great job tending to their needs as beginners and mine at an intermediate level with a new Olympus e-m1 mark ii camera. We visited a number of sites around and including Emerald Bay. Our tour was un-rushed Jim made the tour very interesting by sharing his vast photographic knowledge as well as the history of the scenic spots we visited and Lake Tahoe in general. I could not have been more pleased. I had an opportunity to meet with Keith, the tour owner, the night before and he is a wonderful gentleman who loves what he does and truly cares about his customers. He has amazing stories to tell and has the photographic proof to “bear” them out. I highly recommend their tour and I’m confident that you’ll find the experience enjoyable, informative and a great value. The photos below are right out of the camera before any post processing.

Keith and Robin MORE than earned an outstanding review and my husband and I are happy to provide the highest recommendation. We were excited and impressed with the awe inspiring photographic opportunities they showed us. Robin smoothly handled the business arrangements, and Keith took us to multiple grand spots around Lake Tahoe and Fallen Leaf Lake in a day and a half for an extremely reasonable price. My husband had researched scenic spots to be photographed at Lake Tahoe before our visit, but none of the lists described the best places to take the photographs from. Keith personally gave us wonderful opportunities to take dramatic photographs. For example, he took us to within a few dozen yards of the gorgeous Glen Alpine Falls at Fallen Leaf Lake, but then part way around the lake to photograph that waterfall AND the towering mountainous lake setting all at once. None of the spots he took us to were more than a 10-minute walk from the parked car. He gave us numerous high resolution photos that he took, including a number of my husband and me, as memories of our tour. We were extremely happy to have found Keith and Robin, and will definitely call them again the next time we visit Lake Tahoe. When we started our tour with Keith we were first-time “guests” but when we finished our tour we were “friends.”
