What To Expect

Emerald Bay State Park

The Ultimate Half Day Tour departs at 7:00 am, and focuses on the best of Tahoe’s South and West Shore areas. Our journey begins at a beautiful secluded Tahoe beach, shadowed by spectacular Mt.Tallac. Across the river is an Eagle sanctuary, and you will be able to view and photograph different species of local birds, and possibly even a bear. As the mountains and lakes beckon, our adventures continues to back country lakes and spectacular waterfalls. Above the falls, another high country lake awaits our arrival. Climbing 2,000 feet above Tahoe to a high country ridgeline, gives you amazing views. Continuing to one of the most photographed locations in North America, Emerald Bay. Tahoe Photo Tours will take you to special locations to avoid the crowds.

Sugar Pine State Park

Sugar Pine Point State Park contains one of the finest remaining natural areas on Lake Tahoe. With nearly two miles of lake frontage, the park has dense forests of pine, fir, aspen and juniper. Constructed in 1903, the property is one of the finest examples of a by-gone era of summer retreats found along the shores of Lake Tahoe. With crystal clear waters and up to 24 inch pine cones this is a must see location.

Keith picked us up from our hotel promptly and really customized the tour for my family. We wanted to see some spectacular places but with not too much walking and he did. Throughout the entire tour Keith provided to things: 1) Expert knowledge of Lake Tahoe and the area; along with a few hidden gems/areas that only he knows about ;) 2) Great skill as a photographer. Most photographers just click away...but Keith takes great care about the lighting, skies, water, etc;. I just saw some of the pics with and they look incredible with the most beautiful background of clouds, and blue water Best part of the tour is Keith's enthusiam and love for Lake Tahoe; which added a touch of excitement about every single stop on the tour! I highly recommend this tour! ;)

Jim was our tour guide for the day. What an awesome guide-very knowledgeable and patient with me as I’m a hobbiest photographer. Gave great instruction and extremely helpful hints. This was worth every penny spent. Don’t be fooled and book with a different tour-they aren’t even photographers. If you want a great experience for your money and help with your photography skills, book this tour!

I have visited Lake Tahoe annually for over 20 years, love the natural beauty there, and have taken hundreds of photographs over the years. I realized I needed something new and fresh and discovered Tahoe Photographic Tours. I could not have been happier with the time spent on our tour. The experience was perfect in every way. Jim Grant was our guide, and he knows the best photo sites and secret places to share with others. He is very interesting and extremely helpful in his suggestions for photographic technique. He has been a lifelong professional photojournalist, teaches photography classes, and our tour became a very informative photo workshop. He is also a very nice person and we all had a wonderful time. I have heard that Keith Price and the other guides are also outstanding, so you'll be thrilled with whomever you have on your tour. But my experience was with Jim and I enthusiastically recommend him. I am telling everyone I know that this tour is something they must experience!
