What To Expect

Emerald Bay State Park

The Ultimate Half Day Tour departs at 7:00 am, and focuses on the best of Tahoe’s South and West Shore areas. Our journey begins at a beautiful secluded Tahoe beach, shadowed by spectacular Mt.Tallac. Across the river is an Eagle sanctuary, and you will be able to view and photograph different species of local birds, and possibly even a bear. As the mountains and lakes beckon, our adventures continues to back country lakes and spectacular waterfalls. Above the falls, another high country lake awaits our arrival. Climbing 2,000 feet above Tahoe to a high country ridgeline, gives you amazing views. Continuing to one of the most photographed locations in North America, Emerald Bay. Tahoe Photo Tours will take you to special locations to avoid the crowds.

Sugar Pine State Park

Sugar Pine Point State Park contains one of the finest remaining natural areas on Lake Tahoe. With nearly two miles of lake frontage, the park has dense forests of pine, fir, aspen and juniper. Constructed in 1903, the property is one of the finest examples of a by-gone era of summer retreats found along the shores of Lake Tahoe. With crystal clear waters and up to 24 inch pine cones this is a must see location.

My companion and I took the 'half day' photographic tour of South Lake Tahoe with "Tahoe Photographic Tours" at the end of August, 2017. Our driver, tour guide, and photographer was Max, a young fellow who grew up in the Tahoe area. There were 5 of us in an upscale vehicle, meant to travel over the dirty, curvy, narrow roads. What a wealth of information Max was --from the history of the lake, to current conditions to photography tips, Max was there to help. Just like the info says, we went to spectacular, isolated spots we could have never found on our own. The selected areas were what photographers dream of---not a 'bad' photo could be taken! The sites were that beautiful and we experienced them all in an unhurried manner. And Max was there to take as many photos of you and your companion(s) as you desired. All photos of high resolution, suitable for framing, delivered to your email inbox in a timely fashion. These are people who are truly passionate about their work. Their aim is to make sure you have a great experience. You won't be disappointed if you take this tour. (When we booked the tour, we were told to wear closed-toe shoes--this is a "must" as on some of the paths, you will need to be sure-footed!

This tour is a MUST.... if you want to get the full experience of Lake Tahoe and see all the best locations; I would recommend this tour hands down. We had an amazing time with Keith to get to all the best locations in Lake Tahoe. Very affordable and worth every penny because he is very passionate about photography and experience of Lake Tahoe with his guests. He took us to the best areas and gave us tips on how to take the pictures. Also took us to a nice place to eat which was great. He also offers us shots of pictures that he takes of you after he edits them. Loved every moment of the tour and would definitely recommend this tour to anyone.

Hadn't really planned anything for our Tahoe trip but some golf; but was really intrigued by an advertising flyer for a photo tour of South Tahoe. Ohhhhhh my! What a wonderful day my husband and I had with Keith! Having lived there for many years, Keith is a fountain of information about Tahoe and is so passionate about nature photography. I'm not a pro. Keith was so patient and generous with his photography skills and guided me through many shots in places we never would have discovered on our own. As an added bonus, Keith sent us the wonderful photos he took of us. A Tahoe tour that just can't be beat!
