What To Expect

Emerald Bay State Park

The Ultimate Half Day Tour departs at 7:00 am, and focuses on the best of Tahoe’s South and West Shore areas. Our journey begins at a beautiful secluded Tahoe beach, shadowed by spectacular Mt.Tallac. Across the river is an Eagle sanctuary, and you will be able to view and photograph different species of local birds, and possibly even a bear. As the mountains and lakes beckon, our adventures continues to back country lakes and spectacular waterfalls. Above the falls, another high country lake awaits our arrival. Climbing 2,000 feet above Tahoe to a high country ridgeline, gives you amazing views. Continuing to one of the most photographed locations in North America, Emerald Bay. Tahoe Photo Tours will take you to special locations to avoid the crowds.

Sugar Pine State Park

Sugar Pine Point State Park contains one of the finest remaining natural areas on Lake Tahoe. With nearly two miles of lake frontage, the park has dense forests of pine, fir, aspen and juniper. Constructed in 1903, the property is one of the finest examples of a by-gone era of summer retreats found along the shores of Lake Tahoe. With crystal clear waters and up to 24 inch pine cones this is a must see location.

This was, by far, the best tour we took while visiting Lake Tahoe. Both my girlfriend and I never visited before and we really wanted to see as much as possible. Keith and the Tahoe Photographic Tour company made sure we could see the most of what this place had to offer. To not only have a local resident reveal the secrets of Lake Tahoe but also a passionate photographer show you how to get the best exposures possible, was truly an experience. That alone paid for the tour (plus you get pictures from the professional!) We started the day off early to get a head start before all of the tourists and traffic. That made a huge difference in our day. He took us to some amazing locations, talked about the beauty and history of each spot we stopped. There was never a dull moment. Keith was extremely flexible with our schedule. His one and only goal was to make sure we had the best time possible. I have been shooting (as a hobby) for a few years and my girlfriend picked it up not too long ago but Keith's ability and willingness to speak to both of our skill levels made sure we had a great time. We spent the day with another couple and we never felt out of place or forgotten. It was Keith's ability to make us laugh and share stories that made us all feel comfortable as a tour group. If we were to visit Lake Tahoe again, we would absolutely go on another tour with the Tahoe Photographic Tours company. There is too much beauty to see in a day and always more things to learn about photography from Keith and his staff. Absolutely great trip! You won't be disappointed!

By the end of the trip I would have paid to end the trip early that's how boring this trip was. I have been on many many tours of this type and it was my least favourite. I had expected to explore many places I did not know, places discovered by the photographers, unusual spots with great views. Unfortunately the places they take you are just the usual spots in Tahoe that you can find yourself with a free tourist map. I booked this trip due to the positive reviews they received which I find completely baffling. You can find better places yourself with a bit of exploration. Save the money and spend it on having a good time on your trip.

Oh My God ! as I write this review, I remember such a wonderful time we had on this tour. Keith is a gem of a person and the moment you meet him, he feels like a family. Very humble, down to earth, passionate about Lake tahoe and his photography skills are beyond our imagination. My Parents visited us for the first time in US and this was the very first tour we organized for them and I am so glad I did that. Keith welcomed 5 of us in our hotel and the mesmerizing journey started to explore the beautiful places. Very comfortable transportation, snacks for us, his knowledge about the place and his courteousness took our heart away. We went through the places which looked like a part of heaven... Keith was so excited to capture us with the beautiful backgrounds that we received almost 330 photographs from him after almost 48 hours of editing... and he said all the photos came out so beautiful that he couldn't ignore any of them... wow ! Those are the most ever photos he edited in a single half day tour. The kind of effort he puts in is amazing... very few people are there in this world who go out of their way to make people happy and Keith is one of them for sure. We heard Keith's passion for bears and he shared a photo with us while we started the tour where he is hugging the bears. Little did we imagined that we are going to Encounter the real bears face to face on the road towards the end of the tour... OMG... that was the moment... we photographed Mama bear and her two cubs and we were so happy. Our little son even spotted an eagle while we were on one of the spots ! It was a dream tour for my parents and they said we never did such an amazing tour in last forty years... It was Father's day and we got some cool snaps of me and my dad...I am totally indebted to Keith and Robin for their thoughtfulness and making our day memorable with lovely experience and awesome photos. Keith was on phone with me for more than 45 mins while the pics were uploading to make sure that I receive the complete pictures.... If you want to see the outer beauty of Lake Tahoe and inner beauty of a person.. make sure that you book this tour in advance ! Keith says that now you have a friend in Lake Tahoe but I say I have an extended family in Lake Tahoe..... Thank you so much !
