Lamar Valley Safari Hiking Tour with Lunch

Overview
Yellowstone Hiking Guides safely leads hiking groups into the Lamar Valley on a wildlife viewing day hike tour.

Our guides are experts and fun is a top priority. Regularly, we spot wolves and other rare wildlife from the trail in the backcountry of Yellowstone.

Most tour providers in Yellowstone spend the majority of the day on the road, or very close to the road. Our tours are off the beaten path.

Frequently our guests tell us that a tour with us is the best part of their vacation to Yellowstone.

I don't normally post reviews. However, we booked this hiking tour while staying in Yellowstone. We had a great time with our guide Andrew. Our family all agreed once we got home that this was the best part of our trip to Yellowstone. It was a full day of hiking. There was wildlife all over Lamar that day and we got to stop by the river to enjoy snacks and lunch. The scenery on the hiking trip is spectacular. Our guide was super friendly and he really went out of his way to make sure that we were having a good time. Overall, we saw pronghorn, tons of bison, badgers, bald eagles, deer, elk and a moose. If we ever end up in Yellowstone again, I will definitely book another hiking tour from this company. Thank you again for the memories that will last the rest of our lives.

This hike can give you some confidence to go off trail and avoid some crowds. We were able to have a lunch in an unique setting down by the river--not something we would have done on our own at first. Fun to talk to some folks from around the country while getting to know the valley. Bring plenty of water and be prepared for some heat with proper clothing.

We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your hike. We recommend that each hiker brings 2 liters (or quarts) of water per person. It might sound like a lot but you will find it is the most valuable thing in your pack! Thanks for visiting Yellowstone and hiking with Yellowstone Hiking Guides.

We had a wonderful hike with Sarah as our guide! She was very knowledgeable about the area and gave us lots of history about Yellowstone.
