Lamar Valley Safari Hiking Tour with Lunch

Overview
Yellowstone Hiking Guides safely leads hiking groups into the Lamar Valley on a wildlife viewing day hike tour.

Our guides are experts and fun is a top priority. Regularly, we spot wolves and other rare wildlife from the trail in the backcountry of Yellowstone.

Most tour providers in Yellowstone spend the majority of the day on the road, or very close to the road. Our tours are off the beaten path.

Frequently our guests tell us that a tour with us is the best part of their vacation to Yellowstone.

After rushing to get to the tour with road closures the tour started with the guide showing up 30-minutes late. We took numerous breaks and after an 1 hour and 45 minutes of hiking we could still see our cars from the parking lot. We were disappointed the guide had moose and elk antlers hidden in the brush...no big discovery! The exposure to wildlife was limited and better on the car ride to the tour. The entire hike took 6 hours and covered less than 6 miles. Yes it took us one hour to cover one mile through the valley. The hike certainly be done in a couple of hours and our time spent on vacation exploring other areas. Disappointing!

We are very sorry to hear you were kept waiting. Thank you for your review. Our hikes do move at a slower pace, depending on the group. Sometimes the guides will take some time to look around the beautiful, scenic valley and try to spot some wildlife.

Our guide, Josh, was a very good naturalist and chose a good route to show us various parts of Lamar Valley. This was the perfect way to start our visit to Yellowstone.

The guide we had was very friendly and knew alot about the area, she really took the time to try to listen to everyone and all questions the group had. My son and I had a great time on this tour.
