Lamar Valley Safari Hiking Tour with Lunch

Overview
Yellowstone Hiking Guides safely leads hiking groups into the Lamar Valley on a wildlife viewing day hike tour.

Our guides are experts and fun is a top priority. Regularly, we spot wolves and other rare wildlife from the trail in the backcountry of Yellowstone.

Most tour providers in Yellowstone spend the majority of the day on the road, or very close to the road. Our tours are off the beaten path.

Frequently our guests tell us that a tour with us is the best part of their vacation to Yellowstone.

We had a great experience on our hike with our guide Sarah. The pace was good and she made sure everyone in the group was comfortable. We learned a lot about the valley and its inhabitants. We saw eagles, antelope and many bison, plus a black widow spider. We had hoped to see badgers, wolves or bears (from a distance!), but it just wasn't in the cards on that day. The sandwiches and snacks provided were tasty as well.

I hate to say this but I found the hike to be miserable. I am not a hard core hiker, but the group I was with were. I spent 5 months hiking and walking to get prepared to hike in Yellowstone. I am not in the greatest shape, but I felt that I could do it. Between the elevation and the pace of the hike, I could not keep up. Also, the wlldlife was sparse.
