Wonderful guide book and labeled trees and flowers make a satisfying self guided tour. The garden is built on the mountainside, so be prepared for some strenuous paths. Take a water bottle or the paper cups offered at check-in. Online reservations only as parking is very limited. Best closeup view of Makana, or Bali Hai.

Magical valley garden, highlighting ancient farming village, and using canal system in place for centuries. A highlight of our week on Kauai. A real escape from traffic and crowded tourist attractions and excellent history of Polynesian and Hawaiian peoples. A long climb up the mountain, on lovely paths, with steps and railings where needed. Spectacular mountain and ocean views.

The gardens are beautiful! The path is easy enough and short enough for little kids. They had fun running around the gardens and the views from the top are amazing! We could hear the huge waves crashing on the beach FAR below. The signs explaining the plants are informative and entertaining. Highly recommend! Bring your bug spray!
