Historic Little Italy in Cleveland
The majority of Italian immigrants came to Ohio in the late 19th and early 20th century. As the years passed and the community immigrated into the rest of the community, one thing in the neighborhood has never changed is the food. The best Italian American cuisine can still be found in the area, in restaurants all within walking distance of each other. Our Little Italy Food Tour will explore the Cleveland Italian culture that has existed for generations; its people, its philosophies, and most importantly its food. We will enjoy specialized dishes from a variety of restaurants; some long standing, some new to the area, while we take time to appreciate the contributions of Cleveland's rich Italian culture. Your Food Tour may include the following: ā€¢ Cheese fcured meats from a local italian market ā€¢ Housemade pasta ā€¢ Brick oven pizza ā€¢ Authentic Italian-American meatballs ā€¢ Food Network personality's favorite cassata cake

Guide talked a lot about the cemetery that had nothing to do with little Italy. She was scattered and repeated many things. The food was mediocre at best. I can make better pasta from a box and jar of Ragu. They made us eat outside at every stop and it was really hot. And they served a stuffed pepper that was so spicy it was almost inedible. We also spent an hour at the first stop a d werenā€™t given a chance to shop - it was a market, not even a restaurant

We enjoyed learning about the history of the area as we walked around, combined with the experience of sampling food from 4 different restaurants. Our tour guide, Carole, was knowledgeable and friendly. All in all, a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

Our guide was great! She spent a lot of time describing the history, culture, and significance of Little Italy. And the food was terrific! From the appetizers at the local market to the pastas, pizza, sauces, meats, and desserts at other locations on the tour, the foods were amazing. And as a full-blooded Italian who grew up eating the homemade dishes prepared by native Italian grandparents, you can believe that I know great Italian food when I taste it! I wholeheartedly recommend this tour.
