Whale watching in the wild and pristine waters of Icy Strait, where Humpback whales are abundant and sighted on every trip, with small business owner Captain Josh! Otter and Steller Sea Lions are also very common, with Orcas, Brown Bears, and other wildlife frequently sighted!

Owned and operated by our own Captain Josh, he will be your personal guide as he navigates the wilderness waters of Icy strait. What makes his tours special is the energy he has and the creative ways he finds to show you his beloved wildlife, so that you can really see and appreciate these creatures with him, and to make every tour amazing.

His 14 passenger vessel was designed specifically for whale watching on Alaska's waters, and will provide a safe and stable viewing platform for you. He also provides the one truly Drone-integrated whale watching tour in the world, providing you with views and videos of wildlife that are truly unique, and at the end of it, you get to take the footage from your tour home!

Captain Josh and first mate Patrick were fantastic tour guides! I specifically booked this tour because they offered drone footage from about of the whales. I figured I would see some, but I knew I’d be lucky if one breeched. We did see a whale breech, but being able to watch the whales from above brought this experience to a whole new level. I felt like I was watching a Nat. Geo. special, but in real life! The bonus is that you can purchase that footage for a fantastic souvenir of your experience. I highly recommend this tour company!

Caption Josh knows his stuff! With his guidance we saw bald Eagles, a bear, 7-8 whales, a family sea otters, porpoise, sea lions and lots are more of details about Hoonah. The drone footage is a great addition. A great perspective!

We had such a wonderful time with Captain Josh! Gorgeous scenery and tons of wildlife! Humpback whales, porpoises, harbor seals, bald eagles, otters….we even saw some whales bubble net feeding! It was one of the real highlights of our Alaska vacation! Captain Josh is super friendly - he even came and rescued me and my family on the side of the road when the walk ended up being longer than we thought! Would book again in a heartbeat!!
