Lovers Key Guided Eco Tour-Mangrove Estuary

Overview

This is a 2 hour and 15 minute tour with Lovers Key Adventures master naturalist guide, Stephen, who expertly guides our guests through the mangrove canopied estuary explaining the importance of the southwest Florida eco-system -the history of the area- from the Calusa Indians, Conquistadors, and Ponce De Leon..on. He finds wildlife and introduces our guests to the various birds, vegetation, dolphins, and manatee (if they’re around that day;) This is one of the unique experiences available in southwest Florida. No tour is ever the same there is no script and many guests return year after year to enjoy Stephen's expertise and the beauty of Lovers Key
Our guests also often take advantage of the beaches and hiking trails offered inside the state park. There are many photo opportunities available to capture the memories of this incredible experience within the natural surroundings of the untouched Florida landscape.

What To Expect

Lovers Key State Park

Lovers Key State Park offers 2 1/2 miles of beach coastline with incredible shelling. There are 5 miles of hiking and biking trails with wildlife sightings daily. The tours take place in the estuary with manatee and dolphin sightings (if they choose to show up) many or most days. 4 hour Kayak rentals are also available at your leisure-unguided with single and tandem kayaks and canoes as well as stand up paddle boards rented by the hour.

The guided kayak tour lead by Stephen Denmark was the best part of my trip to Ft. Myers. He was extremely passionate, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about wildlife and nature in the area and it is easy to see his excitement and respect for nature. He showed us all kinds of different plants, birds, shells, and even showed us a seahorse and a stingray the he helped release from a fisherman's line. He answered everyone's questions happily and I left feeling much smarter and with a greater respect for all the local nature and wildlife in the area. 10/10 I would recommend this tour to everyone.

Stephen Denmark is a wonderful guide who shared his love of nature, along with his expertise with us on a 2.5 hour guided tour. We learned so much from him---about birds, trees, wildlife and the ocean ecosystem. He really knows his material and you can tell he is passionate about caring for our environment. What a great young man who made this tour the top thing we did during our two week stay in Naples. I would highly recommend this tour, and if you can be fortunate to have Stephen lead your tour, you will be very blessed!

We spent our Valentine's and my Birthday morning peacefully kayaking at Lovers Key thanks to our great tour guid Stephen Denmark. Stephen made the trip stress free, even though I am not experienced at kayaking and I had my two children in tow. He was so knowledgable about the wild life and history of the water ways we left there feeling smarter. Also Stephen found a wild sea horse and he was more excited than the kids...it was a joy. Thanks
