Our naturalist guide, Steve Denmark, and his beagle, Bowser, were a pleasure to be with on the water for 2 hours. Since there were just 4 of us on this tour, Steve took his time explaining ecosystems, pointing out wildlife, and finding creatures hiding among the plant life and mangroves to show us. Steve also was content to allow our group of relatively inexperienced kayakers to go at a comfortable rowing pace. Steve was extremely knowledgeable and clearly conveyed his love and respect for Florida's aquatic life.

I am new to the Florida coast and took this tour to learn. We arrived early and were rewarded seeing manatee just offshore while waiting! Stephen obviously loves his job, is well qualified and is really good at it! He provided loads of information about the ecosystem and inhabitants, encouraged questions, identified birds, fish, and located things in the water that I wouldn't have known to even look for, (such as a seahorse! sea pork, mangrove crabs), as well as some very interesting history. His beagle Bowser rode along too. Great fun. I noticed that he related well with children in the group, who were roughly 7- 13 yrs. You can choose single/double kayaks or open canoe. I highly recommend it as a pleasant and very informative paddle through Lover's Key!

We visited our daughter in Ft. Myers over Thanksgiving. While the rest of the world shopped on Black Friday, we went kayaking with Stephen Denmark. What a great choice! Stephen suggested a 2 person kayak for my daughter & husband (recovering from a recent surgery.) They both rowed, but when he got tired, my daughter was easily able to pull them both. Excellent recommendation on Stephen's part. Stephen pointed out all aspects of flora & fauna that we would totally have missed on our own. He was an excellent guide, even managing to locate both a porpoise and manatee on our trip. Stephen also provided us a photograph for our family Christmas card. the pictures he took the time to snap & send the week after our trip were priceless. We plan to take another trip with Stephen when we return to the Bonita Springs area in March. A great memory!
