What To Expect

Lower Antelope Canyon

Located a few miles from Upper Antelope, Lower Antelope Canyon, known as "spiral rock arches" by the Navajo, is great for those looking for a little hike and a photographer's dream. The lower canyon is in the shape of a "V" and shallower than the Upper Antelope. Lighting is better in the early hours and late morning. Please note: you must arrive no later than 1 hour prior to selected time.

Unbelievable...so hard to describe but a must see if you are in the area of Page AZ! The photos we got were fabulous. And that was on my inexpensive Tracfone smartphone! The group to guide ratio is small 8-10. The guides were wonderful and very conscientious. Plan ahead and buy your tickets early as they were sold out for several day's tours, atleast in Oct.

Our tour guide Matthew was fantastic! His knowledge of the formations and history as well as the in and outs of the canyon was exemplary. The personality was a huge plus! He definitely made sure everyone in our group was able to fully enjoy the experience which went beyond what was expected. He could communicate and provide information in 15+ languages! Matthew was able to answer every question we had that had a wide range of subject matter. You could tell how much he cared for the land as well as our experience, and I will be recommending him, as well as the tour, to everyone. The Navajo land is beautiful and I would have had a fantastic time admiring the canyon and area, but my experience was absolutely amplified by Matthew.

We took a late afternoon tour of the lower canyon with our guide Gene. He was great!! Explained a lot about the canyon, it’s history and what goes into maintaining the canyon. He was great about taking our pictures and taking classic pics with our cameras.we can highly recommend Dixie Ellis and specifically ask for Gene. This is a must see experience!
