Lower Loop Van Tour from West Yellowstone: Grand Prismatic and Old Faithful

Overview

This Active Van Tour is a great way to see Yellowstone National Park beginning in the fun gateway town of West Yellowstone. The early morning part of the tour explores wildlife haunts in the famous Shadow Canyon of the Madison River. This area is home to bear and elk. Later we hike to an overlook of the famous Grand Prismatic Hot Springs. If you don't feel like walking we find a safe, scenic spot for you to wait for the group near the van. Next we explore the Old Faithful area, including some time at the famous Old Faithful Inn. We continue over the continental divide at Isa Lake and down to the West Thumb Geyser Basin on Yellowstone Lake for a view of some spectacular lakeside thermal pools. Continuing our drive along Yellowstone Lake we arrive in the Hayden Valley where big herds of bison roam. Finally, we arrive at the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone to view the canyon and the amazing falls (one is almost 200 feet tall!). The day concludes back at West Yellowstone.

Our tour guide Emily was amazing. Cheerful and enthusiastic. Snacks, drinks and lunch were provided. Had adequate restroom breaks. We saw Bald Eagles, buffalos, Elk, geysers, colorful Pools, sulphur hot springs, Old faithful, forest, fields, mountains, waterfalls etc etc etc Emily was a wealth of knowledge and fun!!

Alex, our guide was awesome! She was fun, energetic, and knowledgeable about everything Yellowstone has to offer- we learned a lot! Saw Old Faithful, Prismatic (nice walk), great lunch by the lake, the waterfalls and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. Along the way we saw lots of bison (some even swimming!) and a young Elk. It was a comfortable ride and Alex took her time, allowing us to really enjoy all there is to see.

Emily Jo , our guide , was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Enjoyed her company all day. Since one of our stops was closed we had to reroute that day. It wasn’t a problem since Emily Jo accommodated our wishes but we did try to reach out prior to our tour to discuss this and could not get in touch with them.
