Lower Loop Van Tour from West Yellowstone: Grand Prismatic and Old Faithful

Overview
This Active Van Tour is a great way to see Yellowstone National Park beginning in the fun gateway town of West Yellowstone. The early morning part of the tour explores wildlife haunts in the famous Shadow Canyon of the Madison River. This area is home to bear and elk. Later we hike to an overlook of the famous Grand Prismatic Hot Springs. If you don't feel like walking we find a safe, scenic spot for you to wait for the group near the van. Next we explore the Old Faithful area, including some time at the famous Old Faithful Inn. We continue over the continental divide at Isa Lake and down to the West Thumb Geyser Basin on Yellowstone Lake for a view of some spectacular lakeside thermal pools. Continuing our drive along Yellowstone Lake we arrive in the Hayden Valley where big herds of bison roam. Finally, we arrive at the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone to view the canyon and the amazing falls (one is almost 200 feet tall!). The day concludes back at West Yellowstone.

Tour guide. Joel, was the best ever and had so many facts and personal stories that made Yellowstone come alive. Plenty of pitstops for us to take pictures and use the restroom. Saw tons of buffalo and even experienced a hail storm at Old Faithful. The guide was very considerate for those who couldn't walk as fast or as far as others. I have been to Yellowstone on my own at various times, but this time decided to take a tour. Well worth the money.

We had a wonderful experience with our guide Joel. He knew exactly where to take us and his knowledge was unbelievable. Great time

We saw and experienced everything the tour promised to show us and enjoyed the stops and small hikes that were allowed. The tour van itself was much too small for a full crowd. Four of us were stuck in the back row of the van using the horribly small seats that should not been used for seating. We were sitting with our knees in our chests and those who had better seats did not want to take turns with the miserable seats in the back. Our driver/tour guide seemed knowledgeble however we could not hear him at the back of the van. Nor were we offered earphones or speakers so we could hear his presentations. I would not recommend this tour company to anyone.

Thank you for the review. We are very sorry to hear you did not enjoy the tour. The van is a 15-passenger, one ton, high roof, Ford Transit. It is the biggest van on the market. The seats are normal-sized seats. The back row is not any smaller than any of the other rows. These are not bus tours. These are active van tours. If people require more than one seat, they need to reserve their tour accordingly. It sounds like you toured with DV. Although, he is an experienced Yellowstone guide, this was his first run with us and he is still getting used to our systems. Also, we will make sure to get him a microphone. Thanks again for your input. It is valued and we will do our best to make sure nobody in the backseat is left behind.
