Luau Kalamaku with Buffet Dinner & Show

Overview
Welcoming guests to Kauai since 2007, Luau Kalamaku is Hawaii's only luau show performed “in-the-round,” offering optimal views of the stage. Witness the unearthing of the pig from the traditional imu (underground oven) and enjoy a hula lesson. A craft fair featuring unique items by local artisans awaits on the sprawling lawn. Feast on a delicious buffet of local and familiar favorites and enjoy a Mai Tai from the open bar. The 45-minute main show tells the amazing story of the ancient Hawaiian legend of Kalamaku “child of the new land." Through laughter, fear, seduction and fire, a new legacy is created, born from the cherished seeds of their ancestors. The theatrical luau show culminates with a fantastic fire dream featuring fire poi balls and traditional fire knife dancing.

Well organized, we learned about Kauai and it’s courages people, bought some gifts from the vendors, and ate some amazing bbq! Highly recommend!

This was not the intimate setting we expected, with several hundred (maybe close to a thousand) attendees, but was not an issue in the least. Truly a great evening. Performances were excellent, from the story-telling to the hula dancers to the torch performance. Local crafts were available for purchase, which were pretty unique and not typical tourist stuff. The food was good, but not spectacular. However that could be because some of the flavors were unique. Doubt we will ever be able to attend again, but we would if we could. Bottom line….go. You will not regret it.

The show was the most memorable! Our train ride was very enjoyable! We wish our buffet had more food selections to choose from.
