Welcoming guests to Kauai since 2007, Luau Kalamaku is Hawaii's only luau show performed “in-the-round,” offering optimal views of the stage. Witness the unearthing of the pig from the traditional imu (underground oven) and enjoy a hula lesson. A craft fair featuring unique items by local artisans awaits on the sprawling lawn. Feast on a delicious buffet of local and familiar favorites and enjoy a Mai Tai from the open bar. The 45-minute main show tells the amazing story of the ancient Hawaiian legend of Kalamaku “child of the new land." Through laughter, fear, seduction and fire, a new legacy is created, born from the cherished seeds of their ancestors. The theatrical luau show culminates with a fantastic fire dream featuring fire poi balls and traditional fire knife dancing.

The show was a 5 star experience! The food was 3 star, though, as it seems to go for buffets, yet the staff was great. We took an Uber to the plantation early so we could take the rum tour, which was also a 5 star! The vendors at the Luau were good, got some nice pearl jewelry at very reasonable prices, and my husband got a nice woven leather bracelet. We also enjoyed some drinks at the Mahiko Lounge. Would recommend all of it!

The food was horrible! The acoustics were poor so you couldn't understand most of what they were saying. On their program it states it shows the imu pit and the unearthing of the roasted pig. I didn't see it so I asked people at my table and they didn't either. The couple next to us left before eating. I kept thinking it would get better so we stayed a bit. Saw half of the show which was hard to see or hear since we were in the back. Absolute waste of time and money.

Great show. Good food. However, weak drinks and bar ran out of bud light. Desserts were tiny. And we never got to see the pig being unearthed. Very disappointed did not receive flower Lei.
