Overview

Welcoming guests to Kauai since 2007, Luau Kalamaku is Hawaii's only luau show performed “in-the-round,” offering optimal views of the stage. Witness the unearthing of the pig from the traditional imu (underground oven) and enjoy a hula lesson. A craft fair featuring unique items by local artisans awaits on the sprawling lawn. Feast on a delicious buffet of local and familiar favorites and enjoy a Mai Tai from the open bar. The 45-minute main show tells the amazing story of the ancient Hawaiian legend of Kalamaku “child of the new land." Through laughter, fear, seduction and fire, a new legacy is created, born from the cherished seeds of their ancestors. The theatrical luau show culminates with a fantastic fire dream featuring fire poi balls and traditional fire knife dancing.

Very Professional Show, Lousy Food, Too Many People, Limited Drink Offers. Huge Venue. I would not recommend it if you don't like big crowds. You sit at a table with lots of people. Stand in line to use the restrooms. The show was very well done with a nice history of Hawaii, talented actors, the guy with the fire sticks was awesome. The buffet was limited and the food was not very tasty. Even the desserts were a disappointment. The plantation train, however, was great fun.

Something different to do for all ages. Performance was top notch especially the fire torch tossing. That was amazing. Reading playbill helps to follow story line. Keep expectations low for buffet, mostly average. The fish was better than the pig. But not memorable.The drinks.... strong & very good! Overall, the experience was worth the cost.

I loved the show, however the food to me was only so so. If you go, try to find out how they assign seats. I paid as much as everyone but was seated very far ( because I was solo?). Maybe you need to arrive very early?
