Luau Kalamaku with Buffet Dinner & Show

Overview
Welcoming guests to Kauai since 2007, Luau Kalamaku is Hawaii's only luau show performed “in-the-round,” offering optimal views of the stage. Witness the unearthing of the pig from the traditional imu (underground oven) and enjoy a hula lesson. A craft fair featuring unique items by local artisans awaits on the sprawling lawn. Feast on a delicious buffet of local and familiar favorites and enjoy a Mai Tai from the open bar. The 45-minute main show tells the amazing story of the ancient Hawaiian legend of Kalamaku “child of the new land." Through laughter, fear, seduction and fire, a new legacy is created, born from the cherished seeds of their ancestors. The theatrical luau show culminates with a fantastic fire dream featuring fire poi balls and traditional fire knife dancing.

An exciting event for families and couples. A fun train ride; a feast and a beautiful show. The performers were excellent and their story compelling. If you know the Tahitien migration story you will identify with the Hawaiian. Mahalo!

We were recommended in attending, so we did. What a waste of time. We came for the imu ceremony which was scheduled from 6:15-6:30. We come to the pit at 6:20 and we were informed that it was done 5 minutes ago. No traditional meals were served at the buffet and they served pulled pork instead of roasted pork. The show was so commercialized, cliche and bastardized the culture that i felt extremely guilty in sitting in the room. The dancers were good, but the choreography and the costumes were the worst i have ever seen. We left as soon it as was done. I will never recommend this Luau. It is so bad and they didnt promise on the delivery (imu ceremony, hawaiian meals, authentic show) that I am tempted to call my credit card company to dispute the charge.

We are sorry to hear that your expectations weren't met. The traditional dish that is cooked in the imu is Kalua pork and is closed to pulled pork. The imu ceremony has been paused during COVID as it involves walking through the venue with the cooked pig. Mahalo.
