For those who want more historical background on George Washington and his home, this is the way to go. Less formulaic and impersonal than just walking around.

This is a MUST DO TOUR with an amazing company and tour guide, Ken. Due to a flight out that afternoon we only did the half day tour; wish we could have done the whole day and seen more sights connected to Washington because the tour at Mount Vernon was that good. Ken was incredibly knowledgeable about the estate and showed us things other people simply walked by. The time flew and Ken was kind enough to offer to take pictures of our group at scenic spots across the estate. We go to Virginia/DC every year for business and will absolutely use Ken and this company again. Thanks Ken!!

We just completed our tour of Mt. Vernon with Ken Roberts, and enthusiastically recommend it. Ken is knowledgeable, has so many interesting topical facts and is simply a genuinely nice guy focused on providing his clients with the tour they want. One of us was just recovering from a very bad cold; Ken went out of his way to make sure the tour was at the best pace, and so kindly went out of his way to give us a ride back to our DC hotel. Thanks Ken!!
