What To Expect

Key Largo

Mangrove Tunnel Kayak Adventure. Experience the waters off Key Largo as a local during this 3 hour tour in the mangroves off Key Largo. Kayak through crystal clear waters as we learn about the mangroves and their importance to the ecosystem of the Florida Keys. Learn about the birds, fish, turtles, and manatees that frequent these areas. For those that are interested snorkel through some of the tour as you experience the world under the mangroves as well. For those booking a 2 or more guests, we will automatically assign tandem (2 person) kayaks to those travelers. Travelers requesting single kayaks…please call the store at 395.451.3018 after booking to request single kayaks.

Check in was quick and easy and we were all given bottled water by Elizabeth, who was very knowledgeable and helpful - even keeping our car keys so they wouldn't get wet while kayaking. We were then driven over to John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park by Elizabeth and our kayaking guide, Suti, who was wonderful!! From the beginning, she made sure we all knew how to get into the kayaks correctly and how to use the paddles correctly. After everyone was safely in their kayaks (with life jackets that could be worn- or not if you were an adult), Suti took us on a 2 hour kayaking tour around and through the beautiful mangroves in the park. She took the time to point out different plants growing in the area, answered any questions tossed her way and took great care of all of us, making sure everyone was okay along the way and was enjoying themselves. We stopped midway through for water fill-ups and snacks and then continued on our way. It was a pleasant, slow-paced trip, giving you a chance to stop and listen and really observe the beauty of the mangroves. I would highly recommend this adventure. And I hope you get Suti, as she was an excellent tour guide.

Elizabeth and Connor were knowledgeable and took us on a very relaxing adventure. We saw mangroves, crabs and lots of jelly fish. It was super relaxing and fun.
