Mangroves and Manatees - Guided Kayak Eco Tour

Overview

Our tours are geared towards first time and new paddlers. We go at your speed so you don't have to worry about going out and getting exhausted. Grab a friend and come along for a unique adventure on the #1-rated Eco-Tour through the mangrove ecosystem. Choose your kayak - single or double - and glide in our shallow clear water over sponges, grass beds, and sandy patches. Looking down, you might see a small nurse shark, turtle, or stingray, or can observe dolphins and manatees. Above water, herons, pelicans, and ospreys settle on the mangroves and hunt for fish. While there are no guaranteed wildlife sightings, we always see something cool in this one-of-a-kind estuary ecosystem that starts right outside the back door of our shop.

Our group ranged in age from 12 - 63 and we all had a blast. Kayaking was so relaxing but simultaneously such a great workout. Probably my favorite excursion this trip. Bring water, ditch your shoes, be prepared to get wet and a little dirty, and clock those calories burned on your device. Guide was great as well - just wish we had more time. Considering investing in a kayak now.

We had such a great morning with our guide, Brittany, a local gal, paddling through mangroves and searching for manatees. Brittany was super knowledgeable, and we learn a lot about the eco system there. It was great to have a guide that knew where to take us vs. going on our own. Brittany, if you ever want to see some snow and experience a Chicago winter, you’re welcome anytime! Thanks for wonderful memories!!

Loved going through the mangroves. The facility was friendly and all the equipment was sanitized in advance. Felt very safe and organized.

thanks for noticing our covid protocol. we are trying very hard to protect ourselves and our customers. we have had a few bad reviews because we're so diligent but I also realize that others really appreciate it. glad you had a good time exploring out ecosystem and hope you make it back this way again someday.
