to this unique tour experience. I recently booked a last minute 'Immigrant New York' tour for a group of four. Andrew responded to my email & within minutes we were speaking on the phone planning our tour. We met a few days later at the Essex Market in Lower Manhattan & we were off on an amazing adventure. Andrew is a personable young man with an undying passion for his home town. He told us some fascinating stories of the immigrant experience over the past 200 years in the Lower East Side. Traipsing through Chinatown & Little Italy, he shared the rich history of the parks, churches, tenements & markets as well as filling us in on the more recent efforts of gentrification taking place and the unending war on graffiti. We found boutique hotels & shops and funky bars and an Italian Bakery with the best little cannoli imaginable. Many thanks for also showing us the dumpling shop, bagel & bialy shop, candy store, pickle joint and that place that made the most amazing Malaysian Sweet Pork Jerky. Mmmmmm good. Thanks again Andrew. Your delightful tour was the highlight of our trip!

I recently went on vacation to NYC with my fiance and teenage stepdaughter. I have been to NYC many times, and attended college on Long Island, but it was their first time coming to the city. We started our trip off with a 6 hour private walking tour with Dan, from Streetwise Tours. We elected to do the Streetwise Manhattan tour, which covers some of Central Park, 5th Ave, the Chelsea Highline and Chelsea Market, the Village, and the Lower East Side. At my request, Dan worked in St. Patrick's Cathedral and Grand Central Station. He also worked in a stop by the original Magnolia Bakery for a cupcake. Dan was prompt, informative, and friendly. We really enjoyed the entire tour, and he took the time afterwards to email me with local restaurant recommendations...and they were pretty good too! I would highly recommend Streetwise Tours to anyone wanting to get away from Midtown and the tourists and see a little bit more of the real Manhattan.

Thanks so much for the kind review. I'm glad you had such a good time and were able to see so much. You were one of the fastest paced groups I've had so you really kept me on my toes and gave me quit a workout on that tour. Now I know what I'm in for the next time I have people show up with their own camel pack of water. Hope those long shifts at sea aren't wearing you guys down too much. -Dan

We booked a Streetwise Manhattan tour prior to our family visit to NYC and are so glad that we did. We got a great tour of the city and much more as Andrew provided us with many helpful tips and references prior to arrival. He also asked for our preferences so that the tour could be customized to our interests. Patrick was our awesome tour guide. He picked us up at our hotel and proceeded to give us a fun and informative tour of areas that we had requested and many more. He provided excellent insight into the history and current happenings of many areas – Chelsea, High Line, Greenwich Village, Ground Zero, etc. With the tips and recommendations from both Andrew and Patrick, we were able to go on our own the next few days to see some great attractions, some well-known and others lesser-known. Overall, the Streetwise Tour is an excellent value and a great way to learn about the city quickly. Thanks again guys for the great information and tour!
