Greg led us on a fascinating tour from Pod Times Square to Brooklyn and Dumbo. He was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. He had a personal interest in the area and brought its history to life with enthusiasm. Along the way we enjoyed ice cream at Ample Hills. A big thanks to Greg.

If you stay at a Pod hotel they have a list of walking tours that meet in the lobby daily. I decided to take the tour of Brooklyn as I have never done more than Brooklyn Heights or go to a bar or restaurant to meet a friend then back to the city. Our tour guide made a stop at the piano in the bus terminal (pictured) before boarding the train to Brooklyn. I should have tipped him double for the busking and the tour. But I forgot about the busking so I hope this review makes up for that. My tour was delightful hitting Williamsburg, the new Domino Park, Dumbo with a stop into a coffee shop and a bodega. They have tours for Soho, Little Italy; Chinatown; Central Park, Upper West Side; Greenwich Village, and Meat packing, which includes the high line and Chelsea Market. Take one and tip well and if your guide breaks out some Chopin don’t forget to tip extra.

This tour, which started at the Hotel Edison in midtown, was an hour and half long and full of really interesting information. Even though we felt that we already knew this area quite well, we were entertained and educated by the guide, Sonya, who was animated, friendly and highly knowledgeable. We would certainly take another tour from this company.
