We booked into the private tours of Manhattan and Brooklyn for 4 1/2 hours. This is a great way to see NYC as the tours were organised based on what we like to see in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Our tour guides, Sonya and Dan, are both very informative and showed us around the city by foot, subways and ferry. We also have time to stopover at some cafes for a break and coffees. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the tours and highly recommend the same for everyone.

I went on two, walking tours by Streetwise. The first round Greenwich Village and the meat packing District, with Ben. Who bought the part of the cities history to light with his wealth of knowledge and anecdotes. And the Second DUMBO & Brooklyn Heights, with David. Who provided a compelling and entertaining journey through Brooklyn’s history and architecture. Both tours where superb and I would highly recommend using streetwise for fantastic tours round unseen non tourist New York, allowing you to get a sense of the city, and not just its bright lights.

When my husband and I decided to learn more about Brooklyn, where we were visiting our daughter, we had a general idea of the neighborhoods we wanted to see. Then the day before our tour, we changed the neighborhoods. That proved to be no problem. Andrew, co-founder of the company, proved to be a knowledgeable and engaging guide on our well-paced tour around Williamsburg and Bushwick. As we asked, he showed us the Chasidic Jewish, Dominican, and hipster parts of Williamsburg (with some food samples along the way), and the street art of Bushwick. When our idea of what we could see in three hours proved to be overly ambitious, Andrew helped us make good choices for the rest of the tour. We wound up with an impromptu and fascinating visit to a fine-art framing business (Andrew knew the owner) and an excellent recommendation for lunch after we left Andrew. I’ve taken a lot of tours in a lot of cities, and this one was the most fun. Andrew shared his eclectic and broad knowledge and infectious enthusiasm for a place he loves
