Friends highly recommended Streetwise to us, and they were right! Sonya gave us a great orientation to the city with information about art, architecture, and history of the neighborhoods we visited: Chelsea, Highline, West Village, SoHo, Little Italy, and China Town. We learned and saw so much we would not have by ourselves. Plus she helped us figure out the subway system so we could explore on our own the rest of our stay. We definitely recommend this tour! We went on a walking tour in Manhattan (about 2 hours). Most interesting . For about 2 hours we saw places that we had already seen but had no idea of their history, architecture etc . We learned a lot and it gave depth to our visit to Manhattan. There are different tours - we went on a Sunday tour which included Grand Central Station The guide was excellent.

After a 15,5 hour flight from South Africa we booked into the Pod 51 Hotel at 8H45. We were told about the Streetwise Walking Tour starting at 9H30. We quickly showered, unpacked and threw ourselves into the NY City experience. What a great way to beat the jet-lag. Sonya from Streetwise Tours skillfully explained to us street- art and showed us how the early immigrants lived in lower Manhattan. Thanks for making us comfortable in exploring this overwhelming city on our own. But we could not get enough and also joined David on tour of Chelsea, the Highline and Greenwich Village. Both tours were the highlights of our three week US trip! Highly recommendable!
